The Ultimate Guide to a Well Weekend!

I am so excited to bring you this post, it’s one of my favorite topics! Over the last few years, I have perfected the art 🤌 of a weekend full of wellness, wellbeing, and welfare. A weekend dedicated to your happiness, health, and good fortune. It’s an ultimate act of self-care, and I’m thrilled to walk you through the step-by-step of planning your own.

I’m hoping this will become one of your new personal traditions, and that you’ll make it your own. You can adopt this practice wherever it fits into the current stage of your life. Maybe it only happens once a year, maybe it happens once a quarter, or maybe you have the time, space, and luxury to make it happen once a month!

To get you in the right headspace, let’s imagine you have your very best, most treasured friend coming to stay with you for a whole weekend from an entirely different location. She’s traveling to you, so you’ll be in charge of all the preparation, planning, and memory-making. Of course you’ll want to give her an ultimate experience so you two can bond, enjoy one another’s company, and have the best time imaginable.

Well, in this exercise, you’ll be that same loving best friend, only to yourself. You need to plan, prepare, and get ready to make memories. You need to know what you’ll do, eat, and wear! And my favorite part: you need to create a list of activities that will make you absolutely giddy.

Well Weekend Essentials

I’ve been doing this for years, and I keep a running bulleted list of ideas on my Google calendar so I never recreate the wheel when planning a Well Weekend. I’m sharing some examples for your inspiration!

Activities (DO):

  • Create a watch list (favorite movies/shows of the season)
  • Make progress on my 25 before 2025 list
  • Drawing projects
  • Color! 🖍️
  • Play video games (my comfort favorites or a new release)
  • Walk through World Market or H-Mart
  • Create a spa day
  • Book a massage
  • Do Yoga
  • Oracle card reading
  • Journal
  • Read a new romance novel ❤️
  • Take a long walk
  • Dance on the rebounder
  • Meditate
  • Do my nails 💅

Food & Drink Recommendations (EAT):

I know everyone has different dietary needs, so I’ll keep this a short list of my favorites (my diet involves zero restrictions).

  • Dirty Diet Coke (4 parts Diet Coke, 1 part protein shake)
  • Yasso Greek Yogurt frozen treats
  • Clio Greek Yogurt bars
  • Dole Dippers (Chocolate-covered bananas)
  • Mochi ice cream (My Mochi is my favorite brand)
  • Clevr Teas with sweet Almond Milk creamer frothed in
  • This girl’s Chick Fil A sweet heat mac and cheese mix (on repeat and copycatted)
  • I also subscribed to her ^ Patreon and make a delicious high protein, low cal cheesecake mix with fresh berries (on repeat)
  • Copycat spa tea

Clothing and Atmosphere (WEAR):

  • Comfy clothes (or a gown, if you love to be dressy! Dress code entirely up to you)
  • Laundered or new pajamas
  • Cozy blankets and pillows, freshly laundered
  • Clean and tidy spaces inviting you in (do this ahead of time)

Supplies (SHOP or GATHER 🤗):

For the record, you don’t have to spend a lot to make the ultimate well weekend experience, but it is nice to invest in a few treats. When I come out of a well weekend, I feel so grounded and centered. A lot of times, I feel as though I’ve reset the clock. Time doesn’t seem to move as fast because I’ve slowed down to be present.

If a whole weekend feels unrealistic at this stage of your life, schedule a morning or aim for just one day to get to know yourself better.
